See Chicago Picasso
Chicago is one of the cities in the world that is home to so many art pieces that are located on its streets. Not only Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate, but also a sculpture by Picasso must also be in your must see list when you are spending time in this beautiful city.
The sculpture, which is located in front of the Daley Plaza has got an interesting story. Although Pablo Picasso has never made art work upon request, he accepted the architect Richard Bennett’s, who has asked Picasso for a piece of art for the Daley Project by writing a poem to him. It is stated that Picasso was offered 100.000 dollars after he has completed the sculpture, but never accepted the money.
Although Picasso never made a statement about what the sculpture represents, there are speculations about the art work may have been inspired by the French artist Sylvette David, of whom Picasso has made many portraits of.
